WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:


 

• Ensure Finance business updates are delivered in a timely manner to create a wider understanding of business performance across the whole of the retail team.
• Responsibility to set up and chair quarterly Finance reviews with HOR and their teams to enable a complete understanding of their performance and associated risk and opportunities
• Set up a process of clear, measureable but realistic Business Plans for all stores and ensure at any point in time there is awareness of the over prize not currently being delivered
• Create clear reporting and action plans which challenges, and recovery can be built into the lodged company re-forecast.
• Identify commercial finance training gaps amongst the retail field teams inc store staff and ensure appropriate training/support is given within the field.
• Support commercial finance training gaps when requested by HoR/DBM/RBM.

• Part of the sign off process for quarterly sales targeting to ensure mirrors Business Plan opportunities and is clearly embedded in the retail field and store teams.

• Through regular contact with the retail teams maintain an on-going review of the suitability and ‘value adding’ of all retail reporting and liaise with the Group Reporting team to ensure the reporting data-set is updated. Support the rationalisation of all reporting through regular contact with the Reporting Action Team (RAT)
• Driving Retail performance whilst considering the ever changing mind set of the Omni Channel customer (Omni Channel = Retail & Ecomm).
• Supporting the Retail Operations team in Trade related queries, Capital investment opportunities and guidance on retail trials to ensure conclusive outcomes can be achieved.


 

KEY TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED:

 

• Ability to de-mystify financial performance and provide balanced guidance and judgement.
• Good communicator, able to listen, give feedback, whilst respecting other people’s opinions and experience
• Ideally Part or Full Qualified Accountant (ACMA /ACA  / ACCA/ CIMA/ CA/ ACM/ CPA) with at least 2 years’ experience working in a Retail Finance environment.
• Respected for clarity of financial judgement and insight.
• Clear written, oral, and presentational communication skills.
• Supporting and embedding new ideas and concepts – eschewing stereo-typical role of accountant.
• Ability to influence and lead teams towards  appropriate solutions.
• At least 2 years Retail experience in a large international and or multi-channel business.
• Reporting to tight deadlines, reporting to Senior Management and Directors
