The Role:
For the first time we’re hiring a Senior Sourcing Manager to the team. This is an exciting new  role and  will involve working closely with the wider  Buying, Merchandising, Design, Quality, Sustainability and Finance teams to  support the strategic objectives of the business; recommending, agreeing and implementing efficient sourcing strategies to deliver profit and manage risk without compromising product standards or the agility of supply.
This role focuses on the sourcing and supplier management of our Goods for Resale.  And should promote  excellence in our purchasing practices

Working with the head of Supply Base, Quality and Sustainability and the Chief Commercial Officer   you will be overseeing all aspects of the supply base relationship. 
You will ensure the business has a clear understanding of the global market place, and are well informed to be able to reasonably forecast and communicate changes which will affect the cost or supply of goods and make recommendations to capitalise on commercial opportunities and manage risk. You will work with buying teams to promote best practice in product costing. You will analyse and calculate the costs of producing and delivering product, identifying and presenting opportunities to decrease costs. This will include supporting cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.

You and your team will work with buyers and manage the introduction of new suppliers, lead the negotiation of contracts and terms and on- boarding process as well as the responsible exit processes and termination of contracts when appropriate.  We will aim to maintain our supply base size at an optimum level at all times.

Your team will report on the size and shape of our supply base, and monthly performance reporting / dashboards to the wider business. This will include an initial review of KPI’s, Supplier score carding and settlement of compensation/ compliance charges.  You will prepare overviews  and forecasts  for board and investor packs and  annual reporting
Your team will work with  Heads of Merchandising  to ensure the wider team are monitoring / delivering   country

About You:

• Experienced and knowledgeable about product, suppliers and factories, with a strong and well developed network of contacts
• Equipped with advanced knowledge of product construction, the critical path, costing, manufacturing and critical path  management
• Knowledgeable and  well informed  about trends in market conditions, pricing and future markets
• Able to fully understand the department strategy set out by the  Chief Commercial Officer / Head of Supply Base and drive the strategic objectives on a daily basis through your team
• Proven track record of working in a wider buying environment, and able to demonstrate an appreciation of the levers for margin and profit
• Well informed on sustainable supply chains and raw materials with good knowledge of responsible purchasing practices.
• A strong negotiator with the ability to find pragmatic solutions that work for all parties
• Willing to travel to visit suppliers as required, including international travel
• Equipped with good computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint & Word

• This role will require significant problem solving able to interpret the impact of shifting micro  and macro influences outside of New Look’s control
• The ability to analyse a significant volume of data and assimilate and make recommendations will be required.
• This role requires and experienced team leader, with experience in developing both a team and individuals
