The Role:
We're looking for an experienced IT professional to join our team to cover Maternity leave. Our IT Programme Managers have the overall responsibility for planning, controlling ,and managing the end to end delivery of one or more IT programmes within their allocated business unit e.g. Corporate, Marketing, Risk & Renewal, International & Channels, Trading, Logistics or Digital.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Supporting the Head of IT Delivery with the creation and management of the programme portfolio, both in-flight and pending work

Ensuring early involvement in portfolio planning in order to feed in to decisions regarding resourcing, planning and solution options

Working with the stakeholders in the business areas allocated, the Head of IT Delivery and PMO, to set and agree the programme content to meet the functional and corporate strategic requirements

Responsibility for task management and line management of Senior/Project Managers and Senior/Application Developers

Responsibility for task management of the Senior/Business Analysts and Senior/Solution Architects

Leading planning and accurately estimating costs, timescales and resource requirements for successful delivery

Managing the implementation and working with the business lead to ensure all required business change activities are completed

Ensuring 3rd party suppliers resolve issues within agreed warranty SLA

About You:

Strong project management background in a complex, fast moving environment (minimum).

Demonstrable experience of successful multi-project project delivery consisting of multiple delivery teams and overall team size of 10+ (minimum). 

Demonstrable experience of £multi-million programme delivery consisting of multiple delivery teams and overall programme/project team sizes of 20+ (preferred).

Demonstrable experience of project/programme delivery under a recognised formal
methodology (minimum).
Strong people management skills and experience.

Strong financial management skills and experience.

Excellent personal and communication skills with an ability to work across all areas of the business and build relationships at different levels up to and including Director..

Completer/ finisher with a real desire to drive to programmes to successful conclusion.

Experienced negotiator and influencer.

Demonstrable experience of managing matrix teams (minimum).

Demonstrable experience of managing matrix teams across multiple locations, including International (preferred).
Educated to Degree level or equivalent

Certification under a recognised formal methodology (preferred).

We are an inclusive employer and remain flexible on location, though we would need the successful candidate in our Weymouth office 2-4 days a week so this would need to be a consideration. We are also open to part time working though we would need a minimum 4 days a week due to the demands of the role
