The Role:

Our People Team are looking for an experienced, extremely organised and self-motivated Payroll Manager to join us.

Primarily this role will lead the team to provide and manage an efficient, effective and reliable payroll service for our UK & ROI employees, under the direction of our Head of HR Operations. You will be methodical analytical and a seasoned professional in your field and will always put your internal customer at the heart of everything you do.

About You:

• Significant experience of managing multiple UK payrolls (including hourly and salaried staff)
• Strong understanding and experience of payroll processes and all linked systems – ideally Freedom/ADP
• Experience of managing and partnering with third party providers e.g. recovery, charities, lottery etc
• Excellent working knowledge of PAYE, income tax, national insurance, student loans, apprenticeship levy and statutory payments (NMW/NLW, SMP, SPP, SSP etc)
• Strong working knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment legislation
• Experience of developing and implementing policy, process and system upgrades (e.g. Kronos)
• Demonstrable experience of  leading a team of payroll professionals including; coaching, performance management and ensuring the team is positive and motivated.
• Able to clearly communicate and explain pay periods and calculations to customers; employees, managers and business leaders
• Payroll qualification (desirable)
• Working with a payroll managed service provider (desirable)
• Knowledge of ROI, IOM and Channel Island payrolls (desirable)
• SME expertise on key business projects – technical payroll and system/report knowledge and expertise
