The Role: Central Operations Local Manager

Identify, explore, innovate and potentialize local opportunities which result in brand exposure, increased profitability and build community relationships, from both a trade and omnichannel perspective.
Deliver a tailored approach to local trade marketing whilst maintaining the integrity of the Retail Calendar
Develop inclusive communication, feedback & review processes between Marketing, Customer & Retail
Maintain a fresh approach to retail as their advocate within Support Centre

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a tailored Local Marketing Calendar engaging divisionally with key stakeholders to plan and execute a robust local strategy, working cross functionally to deliver the best result

• Demonstrate a proactive approach to local opportunities to deliver a tailored Trade Calendar ensuring flexibility within activity, layout and planning to support community initiatives

• Influence and analysis store product range ensuring this is suitable to location, demographic and market type

• Develop a Social Strategy, supporting and empowering teams with the tools and knowledge to communicate locally and build presence within communities

• Deliver an ‘always on’ Local Marketing Tool Kit which is flexible and adaptable to support local communities and maximise trade opportunities

• Review and analyse all executed local events and opportunities, identifying learns and successes in order to elevate future activity

• Main close working relationships with the Marketing team to support local communication via CRM

• Use the Retail Calendar to plot future activity, including non-trading and marketing activity ensuring that realistic plans are constructed for right first-time execution

• Deliver a consistent measurement of activity goals and robust feedback to originators expediting those that generate a return and challenging those that do not
• Use a fit for purpose critical path method through which activity can be introduced, measured and reviewed ensuring factors negatively impacting trade can be identified, corrected or cancelled
• Maintain close working relationships with RBM’s and stores to understand local complexities and conduct frequent & purposeful visits to assess upcoming and just launched activity. Encourage cross functional store visits to highlight ongoing issues and opportunities, encouraging two-way feedback
• Work cross-functionally, building close relationships with the Central Ops Customer Manager and Local Marketing Manager to liaise on worthwhile trials and local initiatives
• Work closely with the Central Ops Retail team to support with NL Kind and Sustainability initiatives
• Create a “stores first” culture within the team, leading by example
• Give honest feedback and challenge to stores on execution
• Deputise for Central Ops Trade and Local Manager as required
About You:

• Strong retail experience and detailed awareness of store and regional processes
• A track record of liaising with stakeholders on complex and potentially difficult matters
• Proven communication and influencing skills
• High emotional intelligence, able to challenge and accept challenge professionally
• Robust yet flexible skills in challenging others, with strong assertiveness and drive
• Customer focussed (both internal & external) with a commercial attitude
• High focus on business profitability
• Good project management and organisational skills
Able to balance and manage multiple priorities with the ability to flex and adapt as required for the needs of the business
